Sharing Shelf

Our sharing shelf is now available by the breakfast club window every morning. If you could use some extra food, please feel free to take what you need. If you're able to contribute, you're welcome to add to the shelf as well. We know times can be tough, and this is one small way we can support each other as a community.

Parking Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that the staff parking lot is reserved for school staff only. If you're unable to find parking nearby, we encourage you to use the parking available at Heritage Park. Also, please be mindful of our neighbors by not blocking driveways or access points. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep things running smoothly for everyone!

Parent Survey
The Student Learning Survey (SLS) has been administered every year in B.C. public schools since 2001. Prior to 2016-17 it was known as the Student Satisfaction Survey. The SLS provides feedback on the implementation of the curriculum changes, learning environment, student wellness and satisfaction, student belonging and engagement, and career preparation. The SLS is the only source of province-wide information about students' learning experiences through the perspectives of students, parents, guardians/ caregivers, and school staff. Schools and districts use the SLS to make informed decisions around long-term planning and goal setting, and in providing individual students personalized support.
The parent and guardian/caregiver survey is now available online and is available in 18 different languages. The survey will be available until Friday, May 2nd, and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Your responses are voluntary and anonymous, and your child will not be identified as a result of your participation in the survey. Any personal or identifying information will be deleted before results are stored. Data will be stored and accessible only within Canada.

To complete the survey:

  1. Go to any computer that has an up-to-date internet browser access at home, work, or school.
  2. Go to http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/access.htm
  3. Click on the Parents icon for Direct (logon-free) Access
  • District: the name of your child's district
  • School: the name of your child's school
  • Language: the language of your choice
  1. Complete the survey by clicking on the appropriate circle to answer each question and click "NEXT".
  2. When you are finished the survey, you will get a message “Thank you for sharing your views".
  3. Once complete, your school will have the results immediately.

Office Hours

The office is open 8am-3pm. Closed during recess (10-10:15am) and from 1:45-2pm. We will have student office monitors covering the office during lunch (11:45am-12:30pm).

Student Pick Ups

If you need to pick your child up during the school day, please do so by 11:45 am or after 12:30 pm as it is difficult to call students when they are outside. Please remember that anytime you are picking your students up during the school day (prior to 2:23 pm), it is essential that you notify the classroom teacher and office to ensure that the class is onsite and not on a walk.

Attendance

If your child will be away, please call the office at 604-826-2213 (we have an answering machine) or you can email Ms. Stefanek at teresa.stefanek@mpsd.ca If you email the classroom teacher, please copy the office as well.

Late Arrivals

If your child will be late (after 8:30 am), they need to enter through the front doors to get a late slip before they can proceed to class.

Kindergarten Registration

Online preregistration has now closed. If you still need to register your child for September 2025 please contact the office.

Parent Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer at Windebank there are 2 steps. One is the school volunteer form that needs to be completed yearly and the second part is a Criminal Record Check. Please see the link below that has all the information on applying for both.

Scent Free School

A reminder that Windebank is a scent free school. We have numerous staff with scent allergies. We are noticing students are wearing scented products. Please make sure backpacks are checked to ensure this is not being brought to school.

Spring Weather

Please note that students will be going outside at recess and lunch. Please make sure that your child is raincoat, umbrella (if desired), rubber boots and an extra pair of clothing. If your child is sick and not well enough to go outside, please keep them home. We appreciate not sharing germs.

Spare clothing

A reminder to make sure that all students (kindergarten - grade 6) have a full set of spare clothes at school. We have several students from all divisions calling home after playing in puddles or snow.

Starfish Backpacks
If you have any reusable bags at home that you are not using, can you please bring them to the office.

Windebank School Lunch by Simply Foods – We are excited to offer your children healthy and nutritious meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting September 16th. Simply provides affordable lunches made fresh from local ingredients, ensuring students receive a balanced meal at school.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and halal dishes are available. All items are nut and seafood-free.
