From the office

Office Hours
The office is open 8am-3pm. Closed during recess (10-10:15am) and from 1:45-2pm. We will have student office monitors covering the office during lunch (11:45am-12:30pm).

Student Pick Ups
If you need to pick your child up during the school day, please do so by 11:45 am or after 12:30 pm as it is difficult to call students when they are outside. Please remember that anytime you are picking your students up during the school day (prior to 2:23 pm), it is essential that you notify the classroom teacher and office to ensure that the class is onsite and not on a walk.

Attendance
If your child will be away, please call the office at 604-826-2213 (we have an answering machine) or you can email Ms. Stefanek at teresa.stefanek@mpsd.ca If you email the classroom teacher, please copy the office as well.

Late Arrivals
If your child will be late (after 8:30 am), they need to enter through the front doors to get a late slip before they can proceed to class.

Parking Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that the staff parking lot is reserved for school staff only. If you're unable to find parking nearby, we encourage you to use the parking available at Heritage Park. Also, please be mindful of our neighbors by not blocking driveways or access points. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep things running smoothly for everyone!

Kindergarten Registration
Online preregistration has now closed. If you still need to register your child for September 2025 please contact the office.

Parent Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer at Windebank there are 2 steps. One is the school volunteer form that needs to be completed yearly and the second part is a Criminal Record Check. Please see the link below that has all the information on applying for both.

Scent Free School
A reminder that Windebank is a scent free school. We have numerous staff with scent allergies. We are noticing students are wearing scented products. Please make sure backpacks are checked to ensure this is not being brought to school.

Spring Weather

Please note that students will be going outside at recess and lunch. Please make sure that your child is raincoat, umbrella (if desired), rubber boots and an extra pair of clothing. If your child is sick and not well enough to go outside, please keep them home. We appreciate not sharing germs.

Spare clothing

A reminder to make sure that all students (kindergarten - grade 6) have a full set of spare clothes at school.

Windebank School Lunch by Simply Foods – We are excited to offer your children healthy and nutritious meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting September 16th. Simply provides affordable lunches made fresh from local ingredients, ensuring students receive a balanced meal at school.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and halal dishes are available. All items are nut and seafood-free.

Please refer to the attached information for instructions on how to set up and order meals for your students.

Two links are provided in the attachment: one for partially subsidized lunches and one for fully subsidized lunches. Please choose the link that best suits your family's circumstances.

Hot Lunch

If you have ordered hot lunch for your child(ren) and they are going to be away. Please contact the office to advise if you are picking it up (must be by 12:30). If we do not hear from you before lunch (11:45 am) the lunch will be given to a student who does not have a lunch.

Sharing Shelf

Our sharing shelf is now available by the breakfast club window every morning. If you could use some extra food, please feel free to take what you need. If you're able to contribute, you're welcome to add to the shelf as well. We know times can be tough, and this is one small way we can support each other as a community.

Breakfast Club
We wanted to express our gratitude to all those that have donated or connected with us to help our program run again this year. If it wasn't for all of you and your kindness, we wouldn't be at a 5-day breakfast this year. Your ongoing support is and will be greatly appreciated. For those still wondering what they can contribute here is a list of what we would need weekly.

Monetary donations - Connect with the office
Grocery store gift cards
Apples / Oranges
Eggs
Pancake Mix
Margarine
2% Milk
Cheerios

For those needing dietary supplements, please email Melissa.moore@mpsd.ca as we want to be able to accommodate to as many kids as we can.

Thank you!
Ms. Moore

From the PAC

POPCORN DAY

Our last popcorn day is happening June 18th! Please send a loonie with your child by June 17th!

HOT LUNCH

On the menu for June: two popsicle days & panago pizza.

There may have been some confusion over popsicle days. The popsicles and cold treats must be paid for and pre ordered on munchalunch as we don't have the ability to do day of sales or stock extra popsicles (freezer space is tight). This is separate from any freezie sales, which are cash and a grade 6 fundraiser!

If anyone is experiencing financial difficulty and can't afford to purchase for their child/children, please message me, the PAC email, or the principal and let us know! We don't want anyone to miss out!

Side note: We have very few regular volunteers for the hot lunch program and can no longer pull lunches out to be picked up from the pit stop/office as it's quite time consuming during our sorting rush. If your child will be away, please arrange with the teacher to pick up the lunch or have them send it down to the office. Any unclaimed lunches by 1230 pm will be donated/passed along at the teacher/staff's discretion and no refunds will be given.
